B.R.M. Live Report

BRM is a charming watch brand from France, specializing in motorsports, making custom watches for clients, or a small number of various stock models. For Baselworld 2016, BRM (Bernard Richards Manufacture) launched several new products.

BRM presents the “Brake Disc” watch, inspired by the car’s 4-piston brake caliper, implemented around the crown as a crown protector. The ETA-based calibre 2824-2 was modified by BRM into a skeleton style exposed on the dial, with red accents on the hands and dial parts. The picture above shows the rubber strap model, model DDF6-SQ-AR.

The second model in the “Brake Disc” series is the DDF12-44, which features a chronograph movement. The base movement is the Valjoux 7753, which is again skeletonized to reveal the internal mechanism. The hands and accessories are red again, this time on a black calfskin strap with red contrasting double-stitched edges and a steel BRM engraved ring embedded in the racing strap hole.

Both models have a PVD-coated bezel with perforations and silver hex screws that give it a unique sporty look. The case is 44mm wide (without crown or protectors) and made of brushed titanium. The case is exquisitely designed, machined from solid metal, and manufactured in the French BRM studio outside Paris. Both styles will debut in May. high quality cheap watches

BRM also launched a new art car collection this year, including 5 vibrant and colourful pieces. The new Art Car collection is inspired by the famous Art Cars and Pop Art. The dynamic design uses a variety of colors to make up the dial, crown and pushers, as well as the stitching on the calfskin strap. While not all models include a chronograph, they all retain the same characteristics.

The different styles to choose from start with the V12-44-ART CAR (pictured above), which has a 44mm stainless steel case, Valjoux 7753 movement. The next model is the T12-44-ART CAR with a 44mm black PVD titanium and stainless steel case, Valjoux 7753 movement. The final style is the 3-hand version, the V7-38-ART CAR, housed in women’s 38mm steel and PVD steel cases, but can be worn as easily as the smaller men’s size. These models use the ETA 2824-2 movement.

BRM launched their first GULF watch in February 2011. Since then, Gulf watches have released several different styles and have become popular with BRM and Gulf racing fans. At Baselworld 2016, BRM introduced 2 new Gulf watches with a T12-44 case. Both cases are made of PVD stainless steel and titanium, are 44mm wide and feature a silver tachymeter inner ring. The dials are all black, but the stripes below the center are opposite each other, one with a light blue center stripe with an orange edge, and the other with an orange center stripe with a light blue edge.

The 2016 limited editions of the Gulf Collection all feature a unique “X”-shaped stitching in light blue on one side and orange on the other. The movement within is another Valjoux 7753, a proven workhorse and the reason BRM uses them on its chronographs. The front of the case instead of the back has a screw system that can be accessed from the front of the watch.

Finally, new color combinations are introduced for the V12-44 series. This new model is more classic in design, with a stainless steel 44mm case with brushed and polished properties. The dial is light grey with blue ultralight hands and an impressive brown racing strap with blue stitching. While most of the BRM line is black and red, or even any color other than blue, this model is very attractive and their entire line is different.
