Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono ethical gold and ceramic titanium
The Chopard Sport Flyback Chronograph has a beautiful rose gold and ceramic titanium case with a dark dial and a calfskin strap.
Chopard’s Alpine Eagle series is the brand’s interpretation of luxury sports watches. When the first Alpine Eagle model came out in 2019, many people had forgotten that its predecessor was St. Moritz, a sporty and fashionable 1980s watch with a delicately shaped bezel that captured the past decade Exaggerated and gorgeous. Although the gorgeous bezel of St. Moritz has not been retained, this watch has been revisited from head to toe, retaining some of the original features, such as the eight screws on the bezel and the bracelet with an ingot-shaped central link. The sporty Chopin Alpine Eagle XL Chrono appears in a time and date model with certain design features, alluding to another version of the Alpine Eagle in 2020. This month, Chopard introduced another two-tone model made of 18k ethical rose gold and ceramic titanium. Obviously different from the earlier two-tone chronographs, the latest model replaced the one-piece bracelet with a matte black calfskin strap, marking the first mass-produced timepiece with a leather strap in the series.
Ethical gold and ceramic titanium
With a thickness of 13.15 mm, the 44 mm case of the Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono is composed of a variety of structures, adding to its complexity and dynamics. The tonneau-shaped case is made of 18k ethical rose gold and supports the round gold bezel. Eight perfectly aligned and polished screws are set at the tangent. Between the bezel and the case is a layer of ceramic titanium, which combines lightness and durability. The sandblasted ceramic titanium crown guard on the right side contrasts with the mirror on the left side of the case to enhance the symmetry of the watch. The titanium metal obtained by the oxidation process of the electric plasma technology is dark gray.
It not only ensures 1000 Vickers hardness, but also impact and scratch resistance like ceramics, and will not fade over time. On both sides of the crown guard are discreet rectangular buttons for starting the chronograph. The complex structure of the case contrasts sharply with the brightly polished bevels on the bezel, buttons and lugs through a large number of vertically brushed finishes. Hawkeye
The Pitch Black dial is decorated with a textured stripe pattern and is electroplated, reminiscent of the iris of an eagle eye. The black dial is also Karl-Friedrich Scheufele’s-co-president and creator of the series-a way to evoke the dark mountain nights that wild animals crave. Chopard’s 03.05-C precision automatic flyback chronograph movement is a precision movement certified by the COSC Observatory. This column wheel movement has three patents and is equipped with a one-way gear system to prevent energy loss. The vertical clutch ensures accurate time measurement starts, while the flyback function ensures smooth and continuous timing. With a frequency of 28,800vph and a skeletonized 22k gold rotor, the movement can store up to 60 hours of autonomous running time.
