When it was first launched in 1993, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph represented the first Royal Oak model with a chronograph function, and its size and dimensions earned it the nickname “The Beast”. The 2021 update still retains the key elements of the original design, but brings it into modernity.
It is the first model in the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph series to be equipped with the brand’s new self-winding flyback chronograph Calibre 4401. However, the main attraction of this limited edition watch is the unique appearance of the dial, which uses a hand-painted 3D depiction of the full suit of the superhero Panther. This Black Panther character is made of platinum and is made by a combination of handwork and laser engraving.
The combination of the purple inner bezel and the matching purple rubber strap provides the finishing touch.
Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon
