Franck Muller Vanguard Chronograph Review
Let’s get close to this very eye-catching luxury chronograph, it will undoubtedly attract the attention of anyone who sees it on your wrist.
The watch we are evaluating today is Franck Muller Vanguard Chronograph Reference # V45 CC DT TT NR BR 5N. Yes, this is a large number of reference numbers for a large number of watches.
As you can see from the side photo of this watch at the top of this article, the thickness of this watch is moderate. It has a lot of wrists, so if you are looking for something you can hide under the cuffs with care, look elsewhere. This is a 16mm thick statement film, but don’t let it scare you. If you are the kind of thing that wants a little avant-garde on your wrist, you will like what you read next.
This barrel-shaped tonneau-shaped case weighs 44 mm x 53 mm, with a smooth PVD coated black matte finish, made of stainless steel, with polished 18kt rose gold sandwich inserts. However, the most attractive part of this design is the front of the case.
Bold rose gold applied numbers add luster to the vertically-brushed slate gray dial, and open towards the periphery of the dial in the serif fonts common on Franck Muller watches. A tachymeter scale is printed on the flange of the gray dial. The jet black part around the dial is finely printed with the trace of the second in white.
The chronograph subdial and small seconds subdial are raised and have a fine radial ribbed texture. These sub-registers use luminous rose gold hands, black outlines and white hour markers, and have rose gold edges. At 6 o’clock on the dial, you will find a round rose gold-rimmed date window.
The thick and eye-catching part of the hollow hour and minute hands are made of rose gold, with a brushed finish and partly filled with luminous materials. The central chronograph second hand is made of the same material and has the same finish, but with a red arrow tip filled with luminous light.
On the inside of the case, you will find an exquisite movement, decorated with Côtes de Genève, round grains and rhodium plating. However, this watch has a sturdy back cover, so the mechanical movement can only be glimpsed when the back cover is removed.
The 27-jewel machine that powers this cheapest watches is the self-winding Franck Muller FM-7000 movement, which is a 4Hz mechanical movement with a frequency of 28,800 VPH and a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. Its functions include a chronograph (the stopwatch function is operated by the black matte finish buttons on the right side of the watch on both sides of the winding crown), date, hour, minute and second hands.
The back of the case is vertically brushed, engraved with the Franco Mullan logo and the “Master of Complications” slogan, limited edition number and reference number.
The right side of the case will show a black PVD coated crown, with rose gold end cap, embossed with a polished Frank Muller logo. This cute watch is fixed on your wrist with a soft and comfortable purple-red rubber strap. The strap adopts a calfskin strap with rose gold stitching, which is gentle to the touch.
This strap features a matte black PVD coated folding clasp, decorated with a rose gold medallion, and embossed with the Franck Muller logo in the same way as the winding crown cap.
All in all, this is a beautifully designed, modern, elegant and healthy wrist watch, suitable for those who are looking for a watch. It is made by a watchmaker who has a good reputation in the industry and will attract the attention of watch connoisseurs and ordinary laymen. Franck Muller Vanguard
