MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT

MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT, now equipped with a malachite dial

The seventh FlyingT is integrated into the Legacy Machine series with a striking malachite dial.

Max Büsser designed highly imaginative complex watches for men 14 years later, he is ready to venture into the female field. In 2019, MB&F launched the brand’s first female watch Legacy Machine FlyingT. With its 3D stage, spectacular overhead flying tourbillon and prominent dome display, LM FlyingT perfectly combines the fun of micro-machinery with an elegant and feminine touch. A warm welcome by women who like mechanical watches, the watch won the Ladies Complication Award at the GPHG Awards in the same year. Now in the seventh edition of 2021, FlyingT returns with a dark green malachite dial.

When FlyingT made its debut in 2019, it offered three different diamond-set platinum versions. There are a black lacquered dial version with a diamond-encrusted case and two ostentatious versions with a full rectangular cut or brilliant cut dial and case. One year later, MB&F ventured into the unisex field with limited edition red gold and platinum FlyingT without diamonds. At the end of 2020, FlyingT has a gorgeous blue lapis lazuli dial.

FlyingT is a member of the MB&F Legacy Machine fleet that celebrated its tenth anniversary earlier this year. Obviously different from MB&F’s retro-futuristic spacecraft, Legacy Machine is Max Büsser’s interpretation of the possible watch he “born in 1867, a hundred years earlier than my actual birth year”. Inspired by Jules Verne’s Voyages Extraordinaires and Gustave Eiffel’s engineering marvels, Legacy Machine has its round case, exposed balance wheel on the dial, It is famous for its high arched sapphire crystal glass, lacquered scales, Roman numerals and exquisite high-end clock decoration.

LM FlyingT entered the Legacy Machine series in 2019 with a smaller 38.5 mm diamond case size. The FlyingT name comes from the charming flying tourbillon rising vertically from the ventricular dial in the center of the dial, rather than the iconic suspended balance wheel. With its high domed sapphire crystal (20 mm high), you can clearly admire the complex column structure supporting the tourbillon and the iconic double arch bridge, this time with diamonds on the top. Another distinguishing factor is that the hour and minute dials are tilted at a 50° angle, so only the wearer can see the time. MB&F fake

Jealous green
In addition to the strong green color, the value of malachite lies in a phenomenon called “peacock eyes”-concentric rings form the swirling light and dark green stripes that appear on the gem. Malachite is used on the dial and tilted hour and minute counters, providing a striking green background that contrasts sharply with the white gold and diamond case. The asymmetric opening on the dial forms a tourbillon that is higher than the rest of the movement. A large diamond fixed on the top of the frame rotates in time with the quiet 2.5 Hz frequency of the flying tourbillon. Like the lapis lazuli version, the inclined hour and minute dials at 7 o’clock have no numerals, but have the iconic snake-shaped hands. The 38.5 mm white gold case is set with 120 brilliant-cut diamonds, and the crown is also set with 26 diamonds. There is also a large diamond on the top of the tourbillon, and the white gold pin buckle is inlaid with 21 diamonds (168 diamonds in total).

The unique automatic movement was conceived and developed internally by MB&F, using the HM6 series and HM7 Aquapod solutions, with a sun-shaped winding rotor and an impressive 100-hour power reserve.
