With a few days to go before the event, organizers are gearing up to host a special lineup. 700 sailors across 71 teams signed up for the event, with Maxis, Super Maxis, Multihulls, Spinnakers and Melges 24s all vying for a spot on the podium. The overall winner of the Maxi category will receive a titanium RM 028 diver’s watch. Les Voiles de Saint Barth Richard Mille 2022 has been suspended for two years and is sure to be an unforgettable and exciting event.

Richard Mille, who helped create the regatta in 2010 and has been its title partner since 2019, will again be present at the event, accompanied this year by the brand’s freediving partner, Arnaud Jerald.

Arnaud will be accompanied by Benoît de Froidmont, president of IMA, the organization that created the Caribbean’s biggest challenge. Luc Poupon and François Tolède, organisers of Les Voiles de Saint Barth Richard Mille, are delighted and honoured to be part of this new competition:

“Being selected by IMA to be part of the Caribbean Maxi Challenge is a huge recognition for the professionalism of our organization at sea and the quality of our activities on land.”

The 11th edition also provided the perfect opportunity for Richard Mille to present his new limited edition RM 032 Voiles de Saint Barth timepiece. This highly technical creation can withstand a pressure of 300 meters according to the ISO 6425 standard for diving watches.

A titanium version worn by Arnaud Jerald, the Voiles de Saint Barth Limited Edition features a two-tone combination of Caribbean Blue and White Quartz TPT. The constant quest for optimum water resistance and durability has fully integrated these elements into the grade 5 titanium case mid-layer. In contrast, the carbon TPT lugs, inserts and caseback combined with grade 5 titanium pushers operate the chronograph and lock the rotating bezel – a complex construction with Les Voiles de Saint on the back Seal of Barth Richard Mille.

The four-time world record holder and defending world freediving champion is proud to be a part of this internationally renowned competition: “Our discipline is synonymous with performance, humility, solidarity and transcendence, and I am honoured to be a patron of this year’s Les Voiles de Saint Barth Richard Mille race. I sailed when I was young and I loved the feeling, so I’m looking forward to getting some valuable insights and talking to some real enthusiasts. Sailing and freediving are also very much about experience sports, so I hope to learn a lot from this event.” fake men watches
