Richard Mille-Jean Todt 50th Anniversary Collection

To commemorate Jean Todt, who celebrated the 50th anniversary of the automotive industry this year, Richard Mille fake introduced three new models dedicated to his close friends. He is a man who wrote an extraordinary chapter in the history of racing.

The first timepiece is the 50th anniversary of the RM 11-03 Jean Todt. This watch maintains the new design rules of the RM 11-03 Flyback chronograph launched last September.

The RM 11-03 Jean Todt 50th Anniversary Watch is powered by a grade 5 titanium self-winding mechanical watch and is protected by a new blue-white quartz TPT case.

This composite material has extremely high light resistance. It is made by stacking 600 layers of silica with a thickness of only 45 microns, and then impregnating it with the unique Richard Mille blue resin. The components are then heated to 120°C before processing.

The case of the RM 050 Jean Todt 50th Anniversary Edition also uses blue quartz TPT. This movement is equipped with a seconds chronograph adjusted by a tourbillon.

The extreme skeletalization of the bridge and the bottom plate, coupled with the use of titanium and carbon nanofibers, enables lightweight movement, weighing only 9.5 grams, while providing excellent performance.

The same mechanism of the RM 050 also moved the last piece of the Jean Todt series: RM 056, which is housed in a sapphire case.

Its structure and curvature require very long processing times. In order to achieve this level of finishing, at least 1,000 hours of machining are required in each case, including 430 hours of grinding and 350 hours of polishing.
